Abstract

This interview with Laura Weinstein took place on September 16, 2020 as part of the information sources used in the making of my Master’s thesis for the program of Interdisciplinary Social Research at Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas, titled “Proposals for the Cross-Sectional Discussion Round Tables with Regards to the Reformulation of the LGBTI Public Policy Work plan from the Recognition of the Different Transgender Identities and Subjectivities in the City.” This conversation allows us to know the personal life of Laura Weinstein in a deeper way, the process of her gender transition during the earliest stages of her life, her opinion about the LGBTI public policy in Bogota, her vision on the consolidation of an authentic trans movement in the country, her activism, and her relationship with Judaism.

Michel Andrés Rueda Triana, Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas

He holds an undergraduate degree in Social Sciences from the National Pedagogical University and a Masters in Interdisciplinary Social Research from the Francisco José de Caldas District University. He is the leader of the organization Queers Antifascistas in Bogotá and LGBTI District Advisory Councilor for the right to Participation and Culture 2022 - 2023.
