Abstract

In this interview we talk with the art critic and curator Álvaro Medina about the connections between art and violence in Colombia, and how Colombian art can be thought in the contemporary context. Throughout the talk, Medina encourages us to reflect on violence as an identity trait and the way to understand the transformations of the artistic field and social imaginary over time.

Ana María Viñas Amarís, Universidad de Buenos Aires

She holds an MA in Cultural Management (Universidad de Buenos Aires - UBA) and BA in Literary Studies (Universidad Nacional de Colombia). She has been working as a professor in the Bachelor Degree in Publishing (UBA), as professional Editor and as a researcher in the Afro-Latin American Studies Group (Instituto de Historia Argentina y Americana “Dr. Emilio Ravignani”, UBA), where she investigates African Literature published in Argentina.
