He is a historian who holds an MA in Cultural Studies from Pontifiica Universidad Javeriana, Colombia and PhD in History from Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico. He is a  full-time professor in the History Department at  Universidad del Rosario (Colombia). His main areas of research and intervention are the politics of memory and the public uses of history.
