Abstract

This paper discusses how the Bogotan illustrator Ernesto Franco describes the history of the city and country through his comic strip Copetín. Three axes are explored: the history of Copetín, the history of Colombia present in the comic strip and the history of gamines (street children). It was shown that the author draws from real events, enabling him to be both witness and narrator of certain events that shaped the country during the 30 years of the strip’s publication in the newspaper El Tiempo.
