Abstract

This study examines the evolution of comics in Pasto (Nariño), highlighting the paradox of a consistent editorial tradition in the face of intermittent illustration and comic presence. It investigates the crucial role of the press in introducing comics, both foreign and local. Furthermore, it explores the connection of Pasto's comics with political cartooning, emphasizing its development in the 1980s and the shift towards more explicit themes in the 1990s, partly linked to the evolution of the internal armed conflict. The impact of academia on comics and how the lack of consolidated circuits has constrained their development is analyzed. Finally, it reviews the influence of geek culture on the recent Pasto comic scene.
