Equivocal Celebration and Categorical Revelry: The Praise of "Loquera" in Two Colombian Authors.

Abstract
Gustavo Álvarez Gardeazábal's El divino (1986) and Alonso Sánchez Baute's Al diablo la maldita primavera (2002) present homosexual characters who celebrate their identity with humor, freedom, and without guilt, challenging traditional stereotypes. Despite being published years apart, both novels are part of Colombian queer literature and move away from the cliché of suffering associated with homosexuality, proposing instead a celebration of sexual diversity and “loquera” (queerness/craziness). Furthermore, through parties and rituals, they explore a liberated and renewed form of Colombian identity.
