Abstract

This review of Hereticum (Valparaíso Ediciones, 2024) by poet Adriana I. Gordillo examines how the book reformulates sacred language through a poetics that oscillates between the mystical and the erotic. Divided into four sections, the collection reinterprets religious and mythological symbols through a feminist lens, in which irony and critique dismantle traditional solemnity. A counterpoint is established with the Colombian poetry of María Mercedes Carranza and Piedad Bonnett, highlighting the uniqueness of Gordillo’s approach. The review concludes with a reflection on the role of poetry in the construction and deconstruction of mythologies, raising questions about the creative power of the word and the poet’s place as a craftsman of language.
