Abstract

REC 52 is the first issue published exclusively online through our digital platform (OJS). With this issue, the journal begins a new era designed to offer our authors a wider distribution and reception of their works and to increase our readership.  In this introduction, the editor details the journal's new format and content.

Alejandro Herrero-Olaizola, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor

He is Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and the author of The Censorship Files: Latin American Writers and Franco's Spain (SUNY, 2007), Narrativas híbridas (Verbum, 2000), and co-editor of Market Matters (AJHCS), Teaching the Latin American Boom (MLA, 2015) and Territories of Conflict: Traversing Colombia Through Cultural Studies (University of Rochester Press, 2017). His current book project The Colombian Condition: Violence as a Global Cultural Commodity examines mass-marketed media products that perpetuate the “dark side” of Latin America for global consumption. His articles have appeared in Symposium, Revista Crítica de Literatura Latinoamericana, Hispanófila, MLN and Hispanic Review. Currently, he is the Editor of Revista de Estudios Colombianos.
